Boot Shell
One-Piece RigidMINIMUS CARBON 3 Boot Shell:
- Localized polymeric integration in monolithic shell
- No stitching on the boot (easy replacement of components if need be)
Thermoformable Shell:
- Bakes very well to accommodate many different foot shapes (bakes in or out depending on the fit of the foot)
Stiffness/Flex Profiles:
- High forward flexion allowing athletes to get knees over toes
- Laterally (very) stiff allowing athletes to lean into their edges and prevent energy leaks
Boot Liner
INTUITION foams:
- INTUITION makes custom after-market ski boot liners
- Very high quality
- Does not bottom out or pack in over time making it hold its shape better
- Bake very well, locks the heel in place and can remove any tight spots
- Wear guard by top eyelets to increase durability of liner
Break-in Period:
- Some athletes can wear them right out of the box, some say it takes a week or so and get more comfortable daily
- Advise athletes to back off the tightening week 1 due to the additional wrap they get (heel lock keeps foot secure)
Tongue
FUELCORE Tongue:
- Same foams as the midsole in NB marathon shoes
- Superior forward flexion - allows athletes to get knees over toes better
- Energy transfer - spring back giving a boost when moving into extension
Customization:
- Velcro strap system allows for adjustment of the tongues either higher or lower on the foot
Toe Cap
Protection:
- Heavily tested in-lab and on-ice
Easy Replacement:
- If toe cap needs replacement, it only involves removing the holder and the two rivets (one on each side of the toe cap) and replacing
- Yet to break one on-ice (skates in field since 2024)
- Tongue velcro strap feeds through and can be replaced without tools
Tendon Guard/Cuff
Energy Transfer:
- Flexible tendon guard that permits a large range of motion
- Similar to the tongue, will spring back on you when loaded
Replacement:
- Replacement requires no stitching
- Remove the 3 eyelets per side and it unhooks on the rear
Insole
Insole Characteristics:
- EPE foam offers long-lasting performance
- Holds structure during baking so as not to reduce clearance to rivets
XCL Holder
XCL Holder Characteristics:
- Steel retention: better than Bauer
- Trigger mechanism: functions like Bauer
- Hole pattern: aligns with competitors (B,C, & T) for seamless replacement
- XCL holders only accept Warrior blades
XCL Steel
Steel Characteristics:
- Better corrosion resistance than other brands (STEP/CCM, Bauer)
- Hardness/stiffness ratio is optimized - we have identified a perfect balance between hardness and strength
- XCL steel only fits in the XCL holders
- Styles: DLC (coated)
